March Trout Flies

March, a cold, wet and windy month, it comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb or visa versa. Water levels in the rivers are still quiet high and the water temperature is still very cold after the long winter. Fly life is in scarce supply with the showing of an occasional hatch of Dark Olives and the March Brown where found. These are probably the only flies, which will stimulate trout into feeding on the surface.
For most of the month of March trout feed under the surface on the Freshwater Shrimp, Freshwater Louse and Olive Nymph's.
